sleep in Ghent
You can stay in our communal sleeping place or in a hostel only for Folk Marathon participants. Unfortunately both are already fully booked. And there is a long waiting list for the hostel and communal sleeping place, so we’re trying to find extra sleeping places with hosts. In case you want to apply for or offer a sleeping place as a host, let us know.
Be aware that places are limited and will only be reserved when we receive your advance payment!
In case you cancel your reservation before 22th December, you can get a refund.
Or you can of course organise your own accommodation! We can recommend these low budget places to stay in Ghent.
- Hostel Uppelink: in the middle of the historic centre of Ghent and still at walking distance (19 min on foot (1,6 km) from our main venue De Centrale). Price starting from € 30,42 per night per person.
- Faja Lobi: B&B with very nice people, a beautiful place, and there profit goes to reforestation in Congo (9 min by bike or 28 min on foot (2,2 km) from our main venue De Centrale). Price starting from € 63 per night per room.
- Ecohostel Andromeda: On a boat! It is very eco and very affordable, and it is a good idea to rent a bike to get around (10 min by bike or 30 min on foot (2,8 km) from our main venue De Centrale). Price starting from € 23 per night per person.
- 13 o’clock Hostel: hostel in an industrial building in the centre (20 min on foot (1,6 km) from our main venue De Centrale). Price starting from € 76 per night per room.
communal sleeping place = FULL
The communal sleeping place is a cosy dance school, called Planeet Mars. It’s at 15 minutes walking distance (1,2 km) from our main venue De Centrale. There’s space for 100 people who can sleep on the floor of one of the three (heated) dance halls. The halls will be divided into early birds and night owls, men and women mixed. It’s always accessible until 4 AM, after that the door opens at certain times.
You have to bring your own sleeping mattress, sleeping bag and towels. There are 5 hot showers, 4 toilets and 3 sinks. There’s a wifi connection and a bar where you can buy coffee.

Kaba hostel = FULL
We reserved Kaba hostel just for us. It’s located at 15 minutes walking distance (1,3 km) from our main venue De Centrale. There are 38 beds divided over 9 rooms.
Bed linen and a personal locker are provided, you can rent towels. There’s a fully equipped kitchen with a great coffee machine, where breakfast will be served and you can cook your own meal. It has a cosy atmosphere in the green garden and living room… where we can imagine there will be some (daytime) jam sessions.
You can check in on Sunday 29th December from 15h till 22h and check out is on Friday 3th January before 11h.
