workshops, concerts and jam sessions
All participants can share their knowledge and skills by giving a workshop or playing a concert on a voluntary basis. You can propose a workshop and/or concert in the application form. The full programme for the workshops will be available on this page by the end of December.
workshops
In the daytime there will be a dozen workshops to choose from, about topics that might interest an international crowd of musicians and dancers. Say songs, tunes, dances, a class on technique, improvisation, style, arrangement, theory, sign languages, introduction to the secrets of Alexander technique, yoga or vocal warmups,… you name it!
concerts
Our stages are open at night for bands or instant projects to play, for a listening or dancing audience. There are no paid gigs, it’s all about sharing!
other activities
There will be different jamsessions, sometimes in a specific musical style, interest groups and other activities, like mazurka clandestina. Do you have a crazy idea? Let us know!
New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve, we are happy to work together with balfolk organisation Boombal. So you can count on some great balfolk to dance on, beautiful music to listen to, crazy dancing and a lot of good jam sessions!
Access to the New Year’s Eve party is included in the Folk Marathon Pass. If you only want to attend the New Year’s Eve party, you can buy a separate ticket for € 15 on the Boombal website.
